The upcoming Slovak live-action children’s series Marnie Blarney (originally Marínka somarinka), a co-production between ART4 and Slovak Television – STVR, has been selected for the prestigious Cinekid Junior Co-Production Market in Amsterdam. As one of Europe’s most significant pitching events for children’s and family content, the market features only a handful of carefully selected projects each year.

The series follows a young girl who, after moving to a small town, teams up with her classmates to film an adventurous movie about a pirate. The project is helmed by Csaba Molnár, an experienced Slovak director whose previous original series, Pressburg, was premiered by STVR in 2024. The script was written by Marka Staviarska, a successful Slovak screenwriter and author of several children's books. The series is produced by Michaela Jeleneková and Palo Jelenek (ART4) in co-production with STVR. Filming is scheduled for the first half of 2026, with the television premiere set for early 2027.

Cinekid is a key meeting point where leading global producers, broadcasters, and distributors gather annually to discover new projects with international potential. The selection of Marnie Blarney confirms the project's high quality and its strong potential to resonate far beyond the Slovak market.
