Slovak Television and Radio (STVR), in collaboration with the production company ART4, has begun filming a new original family series titled Marnie Blarney, designed for children aged 8 to 12 and their families. This 10-part project intertwines an adventurous story with a playful look at the world of filmmaking and the professions behind it. Filming kicked off today in Bratislava, with the series premiere scheduled for autumn 2027.

As a member of the prestigious ECFA association and a cornerstone of European children’s cinema, the PLAY Festival in Lisbon provided the perfect international stage for the upcoming series Marnie Blarney during its dedicated industry sessions.

In just four weeks, on April 8, we’ll clap the first slate and step into the curious and ambitious world of Marnie Blarney. Preparations for our 10-part children’s and family series—about how to make a movie even when you’re not a grown-up—are now fully underway.

The upcoming series Marnie Blarney has been selected for the prestigious Cinekid Junior Co-Production Market in Amsterdam. This is one of Europe’s most significant pitching events for children’s and family content, featuring only a handful of selected projects each year.
