About Marnie
Marnie Blarney is a playful children’s series that follows the adventures of nine-year-old Marnie as she introduces kids to the world of filmmaking—from the initial spark of an idea to the finished masterpiece. Each episode blends the real world, the filmmaking process, and Marnie’s vivid imagination, naturally developing media literacy and a flair for storytelling. Along the way, it sensitively explores themes of friendship, family, and teamwork, motivating children to become creators, not just viewers.
Marnie Blarney is a 10-part series based on the book of the same name by Marka Staviarska. It is being produced in collaboration with Slovak Television and with the support of the Slovak Audiovisual Fund. Following its success at international children’s film festivals, the project is now entering production. The Slovak premiere is scheduled for the first half of 2027, after which the series is expected to be broadcast by several other European networks.
